Korea Salary Calculator 2026

Understand your pay. Plan your next step. Estimate monthly take-home pay in KRW, then compare the assumptions behind your choices.

This is an estimate, not a payslip. Check insurance, residency and tax assumptions in the calculation method and sources.

Korea take-home salary estimate · 2026

Estimate average monthly take-home pay from an annual salary, qualifying non-taxable pay and eligible dependents. The estimate assumes standard employee insurance and takes monthly income tax from Korea's official simplified withholding table (payments from March 1, 2026).

Whole KRW, 0–1,000,000,000 without commas. Include the annual exempt pay entered alongside; exclude severance.

Qualifying exempt pay already included in gross salary. Starting example: KRW 200,000 per month. Actual eligibility varies; enter 0 if none.

Additional people must satisfy the applicable relationship, income and age conditions. Count each eligible person once.

A subset of the people above, excluding you. Basic-deduction income and age rules still apply; typically up to age 20, with statutory exceptions. Birth/adoption credits are excluded.

Model assumptions and limitations

The annual salary is spread over twelve equal months. National tax is the official monthly withholding-table amount for the modeled pay, not a year-end settlement result or refund. Bonuses, irregular pay and actual year-end deductions can change each payslip and final tax.

The model assumes standard employee pension, health, long-term-care and employment-insurance coverage. It uses current July 2026 pension limits throughout the estimate; a real January–December statement can use different limits in each half. Nationality, visa, age and social-security agreements are not checked.

Its monthly income tax is the official withholding-table amount for the monthly taxable pay and number of dependents. The table already reflects the earned-income deduction, basic deductions, a pension deduction, part of the special deductions such as health and employment insurance premiums, and the earned-income tax credit; the table's fixed reduction for entered children aged 8 to 20 is then applied. It omits year-end deductions and credits, including rent and medical expenses. It does not model a foreign-worker flat-tax election, treaty relief or non-resident restrictions.

Amounts are estimates in KRW. They are not an actual payroll quote or a refund calculation. For a foreign-worker tax choice, use the separate limited comparison and confirm eligibility with payroll or NTS.

Put the result to work

Take-home pay, a tax comparison and a gross offer answer different questions. Choose the next calculation without treating one as the other.

What the salary estimate includes

The form divides annual gross pay into twelve equal months and models standard employee insurance, national tax and local tax. It assumes ordinary resident taxation; nationality, visa, treaties and foreign-worker insurance exceptions need separate checks. The result is an estimate, not a payslip or refund.

How do I enter a Korean job offer?

Start with the written annual gross amount and check which bonuses and allowances it includes. KRW 60 million divided by twelve is KRW 5 million per month before deductions; it is not KRW 5 million of take-home pay. Keep a one-time signing payment separate when comparing recurring offers. Use the job-offer comparison checklist.

Is the result my actual monthly payslip?

No. Irregular bonuses, premium assessments, a chosen 80% or 120% withholding rate and year-end settlement can change individual months. National income tax follows the official monthly withholding table for the modeled pay. Read how we check sources and review corrections if a figure needs clarification.

Does being a foreign employee automatically mean 19% tax?

No. The flat method has eligibility, remuneration and election conditions. The separate comparison includes local income tax and explains what its progressive model omits.

Are saved and shared results private?

Saving is optional and keeps a snapshot in this browser. A normal page link contains no salary inputs. To share a result, first review the text and explicitly choose it. People receiving it can copy or forward it. The privacy policy explains browser saving and service data handling. Before reusing site content, check the terms on attribution and permitted use.

Can I use these tools outside Korea?

The general money tools use your chosen currency and assumptions. Selecting a currency changes display and rounding, not exchange rates or a country's tax rules. The Korean payroll and income-tax tools remain Korea-specific. Use the separate gross converter when you need an explicit exchange-rate calculation. Compare these boundaries in the English calculator overview.
