Your current scenario
Recalculated from the inputs above. Rounded display amounts may not reconcile exactly except where a rounding split is explicitly shown.
- Offer A annual gross cash
- USD 65,000.00
- Offer B annual gross cash
- USD 72,000.00
- Offer A cash per scheduled hour
- USD 31.25
- Offer B cash per scheduled hour
- USD 30.77
- Annual cash difference (B − A)
- USD 7,000.00
- Hourly cash difference (B − A)
- -USD 0.48
- Offer B has higher annual gross cash.
- Offer A has higher cash per scheduled hour.
- Neither comparison is an overall job recommendation.
How this calculation works
Annual cash = base + cash bonus. Cash per scheduled work hour = annual cash ÷ (weekly work hours × working weeks). Differences below are B minus A.
Assumptions and limits
- Two gross cash scenarios in the same currency. Ranking by cash is not a recommendation to accept a job.
- No local taxes, benefits, equity, commuting, job security or bonus probabilities are estimated.
Worked example
Example: offer A totals 65,000 at 40 × 52 hours (31.25/hour); offer B totals 72,000 at 45 × 52 hours (30.77/hour). B has higher annual cash while A has higher cash per scheduled hour.
Questions about this tool
Can the higher annual offer have lower hourly compensation?
Yes. More scheduled hours can outweigh the annual cash difference. Compare the two measures separately, then evaluate benefits, taxes and working conditions yourself.
Does changing the currency convert my amounts?
No. Currency selects the unit and rounding used to display the numbers you enter. Enter every amount in that same currency. No exchange rate, local tax rule or benefit entitlement is inferred.
